Ingredients For Sweet And Sour Meatballs Recipe :
  • minced beef (ground veal, chicken or turkey can also be used) :     1 ½ lbs.
  • clove of garlic, or minced garlic powder :     1 medium or ¼ tsp.
  • salt :     1/2 tsp.
  • pepper :     1/8 tsp
  • Matzo meal or soft bread crumbs :     2 tbsp.
  • large egg :     1
  • Kosher dry onion soup mix :     1/2 of a 3 oz. packa
  • either: ketchup, Chili sauce :     2 cups
  • ginger ale :     2 ½ cups
  • salt, pepper, garlic powder or sugar, to taste :     Extra dash

Preparation Method for Sweet And Sour Meatballs Recipe :

  • Take the meat, salt, pepper, garlic, egg and matzo meal, and blend until ingredients are incorporated.
  • If the meat seems too dry, add a tablespoon or two of water or oil.
  • Now, form into small meatballs. In a large saucepan, combine ketchup, chili sauce, onion soup mix and ginger ale.
  • Boil it in a reduced heat, cooking partially covered for 10 minutes.
  • Add meatballs and simmer on low, covered, for 90 minutes.
