Patishapta Recipe

A Bengali sweet dish recipe,Patishapta (pancakes with coconut filling) is easy to prepare and a must have during festivals and winters.

Preparation Time : 20 mins

Cooking Time : 30 - 35 mins

SERVES : 2

INGREDIENTS :

For Batter :

  • Rice powder - 2 cup
  • Flour - 1/2 cup
  • Cold Milk or Water - 1-1/2 cup

 

  • Salt - 1/2 tsp
  • Sugar - 2 tsp

For coconut Pur:

  • Fresh grated Coconut - 500 gms
  • Jagerry - 500 gm
  • Oil to make it - 1 cup

 

METHOD

  • Mix all ingredients together and make a batter and keep aside for 10 minutes.
  • Take a kadai. Put it on low flame and add jaggery.
  • After it is melt, add coconut and cook untill it makes a sticky dough like mixture.
  • Cool the mixture.
  • Take a pan and heat it and add 1 tsp of oil and spread it.
  • Put some batter in the pan and spread it lightly.
  • A pan-cake type will appear.
  • Then, stuff the coconut pur and rolled it. Serve hot.
