Panchamrutham is offered as prasadam to God in temples and during festivals and pujas. Panchamrutham means the mixture of 5 ambrosias (amrutham) milk, curd, honey, sugar and ghee. It tastes heavenly when served fresh or chilled.
PREPARATION TIME : 10 minutes
COOKING TIME : 5 minutes
SERVINGS : 4
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 cup full cream Cow’s Milk (double toned or pasteurised milk can also be used)
- 1 tbsp. Curd
- 1 tbsp. honey
- 3 tsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. ghee
- 1 ripe Banana, chopped
- 1 Apple, chopped
- 2 tbsp chopped dates
- ½ cup Grapes
- 4 to 5 Basil leaves, chopped
- 1 tsp. Cardamom powder (optional)
- ½ tsp. Saffron (optional)
METHOD:
- Mix well milk, curd, ghee, sugar and honey, in a clean vessel
- Add cardamom powder and saffron and mix well
- Add all chopped fruits and basil and again mix everything together
- Refrigerate till serving and serve cold or can also be served fresh as soon as prepared.
