Poush Parbon is celebrated in many parts of India as this is the harvesting season. In Bengal various food items are prepared out of harvesting ingredients lice rice, pulse, date palms and other things. Moong Dal Bhaja Pithe is one of the items that are made on this occasion.

Ingredients For Mug Dal Bhaja Pithe :
  • Moong Dal :     2 cups
  • Cardamom :     15
  • Sugar :     1 cup
  • Salt :     1/2 tsp
  • Oil :     for frying

Preparation Method for Mug Dal Bhaja Pithe :

Soak Moong Dal for minimum of 3 hours.

After soaking the moong dal grind it finely.

The paste should be thick.

Take a pan and heat oil. Then gradually add the finely ground moong dal.

Add sugar and salt and stir continuously till the moong dal become light yellow in color. Keep stirring the moong dal continuously else it may form lumps.

Ground the cardamom and add to the moong dal.

Remove to another dish and spread uniformly to cool it.

After it is cool, cut into desired shapes.

Heat oil in a frying pan and deep fry till it turns golden brown.

Serve it hot. If you want to store it then store it in an air tight container in refrigerator.
