Ayurvedic recipe Baked Pears.These low calorie baked pears are an excellent, sweet substitute for your typical sugary, gooey holiday dessert.
PREPARATION TIME :15 minutes
COOKING TIME :60 minutes
SERVES : 1
INGREDIENTS :
- 1 apple, any sweet variety
- 1 clove
- 1 pinch crushed cardamom
- 1 tiny stick Chinese cinnamon
- 1 pinch black pepper
- 1/4 tsp minced fresh ginger root
- 1/4 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp ghee (clarfied butter)
- Dash of honey (optional)
METHOD
- Core and quarter apple and cut into thin slices.
- Heat the ghee in a pan. When clear, add the spices and stir briefly to release aroma.
- Add apple and sauté briskly for 3-4 minutes.
- Turn off heat, stir in the lemon juice and serve warm, topped with a dash of honey if desired. Discard whole spices when eating.
