Ingredients For American Flag Berry Pie Recipe :
  • Pastry for a double- :     9 inches
  • pitted dark sweet ch :     2-1/2 cups
  • sugar :     3/4 cup
  • fresh blueberries :     2-1/2 cups
  • ground cinnamon :     1/2 teaspoon
  • all-purpose flour :     1/4 cup
  • butter :     1 tablespoon
  • Additional sugar :    

Preparation Method for American Flag Berry Pie Recipe :


  • Take a 9-in. pie plate and line with bottom crust, trim pastry even with edge. Set aside.
  • Now, take a large bowl and gently combine cherries and blueberries to it. Combine the sugar, flour and cinnamon and stir into fruit.
  • Let stand for 10 minutes. Pour into crust, dot with butter.
  • Roll out remaining pastry into a 10-in. circle and cut them into four wedges.
  • By using a 1-in. star cookie cutter, cut out stars from one wedge. Put the cutout pastry wedge over filling. Discard cutout stars.
  • Cut remaining wedges into 1/2-in.-wide strips; position over filling to resemble a flag.
  • Seal and flute edges. Sprinkle pastry with additional sugar.
  • Cover the edges with foil.
  • In a preheated oven, bake at 425° for 15 minutes first, then reduce heat to 350°and bake for 35-40 minutes longer or until pastry is golden brown.
  • Cool on a wire rack.
